Recurrent AKI More Likely Among Blacks, Hispanics

According to a recent study, Older age, black race, and Hispanic ethnicity are one of the most common risk factors for AKI that is followed by a hospitalisation complication. Other predictors to be considered are low GFR, proteinuria, and anemia, as well as heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, diabetes, and chronic liver disease. During the study it was found that Black natives and Hispanics a significant 15% and 11% increased risk for AKI.
